Who we are

What we collect

• ·Enquiry and booking details — your name, email address, contact number, country of residence, travel dates, group size and the trip preferences you give us.
• ·Academy registration details — the above plus your identity or passport number and town of residence, which we need to register you for training and to issue a certificate in your correct legal name.
• ·Newsletter subscriptions — your email address only.
• ·Technical information — a one-way hashed form of your IP address, stored purely to prevent automated form abuse. It cannot be reversed to identify you.

Why we collect it

We use your information only to respond to your enquiry, prepare and deliver a quote or itinerary, operate your booking, administer your training registration and issue your certificate, and — where you have asked for it — send you occasional updates about our tours. We do not use it for anything else.

Who we share it with

We share only what is necessary to deliver your booking. That may include accommodation providers, game reserves, park authorities and transport partners on your itinerary. We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to anyone, and we do not share it for third-party marketing.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept for up to three years so we can pick up a conversation where it left off. Booking records are kept for five years to meet tax and accounting obligations. Academy registration and certificate records are kept indefinitely, because certificates must remain verifiable for the lifetime of the qualification.

Certificate verification

Our public certificate verification tool confirms only the holder's name, the programme completed and the issue date. It never exposes contact details, identity numbers or registration records. If you would prefer your certificate not to be publicly verifiable, tell us and we will restrict it to manual verification on request.

Your rights under POPIA

• ·Ask us what personal information we hold about you.
• ·Ask us to correct anything that is wrong or out of date.
• ·Ask us to delete your information, where we are not legally required to keep it.
• ·Withdraw your consent to marketing at any time.
• ·Complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa if you believe we have mishandled your information.

Security

Submissions are transmitted over an encrypted connection and stored on access-controlled systems. Our administrative console is password-protected and available only to authorised Malala-Tau staff. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you give us.

Cookies

This website does not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. A single session cookie is used on the staff administration console to keep authorised users signed in.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
