Limpopo's Fair That Promotes Local Tourism

The Limpopo Holiday Fair is a consumer trade show for the Limpopo tourism industry, held annually in Polokwane — the City of Stars. Established in 2016 and organised by the Polokwane Tourism Association.

The fair is a platform for business-to-business marketing, access to funding through workshops and engagements, and the promotion of culture, heritage, leisure and lifestyle. It creates business linkages and advocates for the development of new entrants into the tourism industry.

The Delegate Programme

Four days from arrival transfers through to the closing Fun Walk. Dress codes are listed per session.

Day 130

Wednesday 30 September — Arrival & Buyer Networking

Arrival, transfers, orientation and buyer networking. Two collection points are served from Gauteng before the road transfer north to Polokwane.

14h00 — Pick-up 1: South African Tourism, Sandton
15h30 — Pick-up 2: Department of Tourism, Pretoria
After 15h30 — Departure to Limpopo
18h00 — Arrival & check-in, Polokwane
Evening — Buyers Networking Dinner

Note: each buyer presents their company for five minutes at the dinner Dress: travel / smart casual, buyer-branded attire for dinner

Day 201

Thursday 1 October — Official Opening, Speed Marketing & Awards

The working day of the fair: site inspections, the official opening, the speed marketing session where buyers meet products, and the Polokwane Star Awards that evening.

Friday 2 October — Destination Showcase & Tours

The day buyers actually see the product. A full day on the road showcasing Limpopo's offerings and attractions, closing with a boma dinner and the buyer farewell.

Day 403

Saturday 3 October — Fun Walk & Departure

A 5 km and 8 km Fun Walk from Savannah Mall to close the programme, then breakfast and departure from Polokwane.

One timing to confirm. The published programme lists the Day 2 site inspection as 08h30–11h00 and the departure to Savannah Mall as 10h00–10h30, which overlap. Confirm the running order with the organising team before travel.
